On ebay can money be pending?

Resolved Question

On ebay can money be pending?

I have sold a psp for £185 and the person says they have paid and i have got an email of paypal saying their money is pending and i will get is as soon as i send the item and send paypal a tracking number. Is this real? Please help

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

NO!!! You NEVER send the item until the payment is clear. You can check that on your eBay Summary page or directly going to your PayPal account.

  • If the money is genuinely pending then it is awaiting clearance from the buyer's bank. DO NOT send the PSP until the money clears and the payment is no longer pending.

Go into your PayPal account and look at the payment status. Don't rely on this email which sounds a little odd. You can also get more information on payment status from your ebay account in the My EBay Sold section.
  • The pending that paypal has placed on the payment, is to ensure that the buyer is protected, i.e. if the item is faulty then they get an imediate refund. You will ONLY get your money when the buyer leaves feedback or after 21 days has passed without any problems.

The same happened to me!! This website will give you more info.

    https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cm…
  • Go to your PayPal account, if the balance is £185 and the pending balance is £185 then you can send the item.

However, if the payment status from the buyer is "Pending", then you should wait until the payment status shows "Completed" before sending the item.

    Source(s):

  • You will get your payment after 21 days or when the buyer leaves positive feedback. The buyer has paid the money and it in the paypal account but you cant get hold of it untill you send the item, he's happy with and leaves positive feedback .
  • No check your paypal account directly. Sometimes you have to accept the payment through paypal, but you should never send the item before you get the money. If you are still in doubt then email paypal/ebay.
  • I had this problem with paypal when I sold stuff.

Paypal will release the money to you when the buyer leaves you positive feedback or when 21 days have passed without dispute.

Call paypal just to double check this is correct though.

Ideas to start your own business with ?

i want to have my own business, fashio lable and that business person but what are other things i can get into that i can own, not too big, also thinking of starting a teen site forum

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Many small businesses don't get off the ground simply because the entrepreneur doesn't come up with enough viable start up ideas for their business.

So if you want to start a business without too much risk you could start a forum like you suggest or any other type of online venture as they are reasonably cheap to start up - all you really need is a computer & an online connection.

  • You'll probably need quite a bit of money to start your own Fashion label, but here's an idea, there are a lot of people who have the money but little fashion sense.

How about a website where people send you photos of themselves and you send them details of what clothes/hair styles would suit them, giving them details of where the clothes can be purchased (if you're not selling them yourself)?

You could charge for your answers, you would be using your fashion skills without having to keep stocks.

Is it fun to run a business or is it stressful?

Resolved Question

Is it fun to run a business or is it stressful?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

both.

There are currently no comments for this question.

  • It takes a lot of commitment. Largely depending on the type of business you choose to run, you will often find yourself working unsociable hours - not to mention incurring severe debt and taking on a huge amount of risk. This alone can be very stressful. Conversely, if you run a fast food restaurant, for example, and you enjoy working around food, and fast moving environments, then yes, it can be pleasurable to make important decisions about the running of the business. Nonetheless, owning a business does not mean you can take the back seat and have fun whilst others work their asses off, I'm afraid! :-)

    Source(s):

  • If you're running a business and it's no longer fun think about doing it differently or moving on. Stress in business is the same as in any job - it's all down to how you react to potential stressors. If you're a worrier, it won't matter whether you're employed or running your own business you'll probably feel stress. Avoiding or managing that stress is what counts.

Because running a business can take over your whole life, it's important to find ways of keeping a work-life balance so that it doesn't take over and cause you stress about the things you've given up or can't do.

    Source(s):

  • It does depend to an extent on the type of business and your personality type.

I would say that if your business is based around something you enjoy and you are typically not a stressed type person and you are organised it will not be stressful.

If you start a business in a field you are not enamoured by, but are doing it because you think it will make you money and you are inefficient then the chances are you will find it stressful.

Overall only you know your personality type, but if you get your loved ones behind you, do thorough research before you start and are organised I suspect you will find it fun and love it!
  • well I sell fashion bags, make up, and jewelry and I'm very organized when it comes to bills and ordering inventory etc..,, plus I have an accountant who do all the financial stuff ( but I do it when she is not around) I love my job and the only thing that is so stressful about it is fear and the beginning of it.

So It was stressful in the beginning but now I'm loving every minute of it

What is the difference between a pet shop and a pet super store?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Pet shop is a shop where pet animals can be purchased, pet super store is a place where also you can purchase pet products i.e. Dog beds, pest control, pet food supplies for all pets, etc.

Other Answers (4)

  • A pet shop probably only sells pets and some pet accessories like their food while a pet super store sells everything pets need except the pets.
  • A pet shop is typically locally owned and not a part of a national chain. That is what comes to my mind.
  • obviously super store is larger
  • The latter sells super pets.

hi can you get fined or go to prison for selling fake stuff on ebay eg shoes , clothes etc ?

thanks in advance

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

It's possible, but not likely for a first offense. The more you've done it, and the more money you've taken from others under false pretenses, the more likely you are to face criminal charges.

Other Answers (9)

  • it is unlikely that they would sell well anyway as everyone who purchased stuff off you would give you negative feedback or ask for a refund. think would discourage others from purchasing stuff off you anyway.
  • You can be sued by the buyer and/or ebay for knowingly misrepresenting an item. You could also face criminal charges for fraud.
  • yes!!!!!!!!!!!! You should NEVER, EVER do that!!!!!! I looked it up on google..... on the law page. It said.........FOR ANYONE WHOM SHOULD SELL NON PROFIT ITEMS WILL SPEND UP TO SIX MONTHS IN PRISON DEPENDING ON THE ITEMS YOU HAVE SOLD OR THE AMOUNT.
  • possibly so if you sell them off as original and it all amounts to over a certain limit. You will be investigated, indicted and if found guilty, can be imprisoned.
  • Yes, you can spend up to 6 months in prison for selling fake items on an internet auction website.
  • The company that you are ripping off with the fakes can and will come after you. That can lead to fines and jail time.
  • you can be sued by the person who buys it from you.
  • Fraud is fraud wherever it takes place. So yes you can
  • i think you get jail time for false advertising or a fine either or it is still illegal

  • If in the Uk you will probably need some diploma in business management and knowledge relating to the animals you will be caring for.
You will also need to obtain a licence from your local Council and of course you will need to be insured for both Staff you employ and for the animals in your care.
It should not be too difficult if you do your home work and have a business plan.

Do I have to repay an overpayment on an invoice from an agency?

Resolved Question

Do I have to repay an overpayment on an invoice from an agency?

I have a Ltd company and work for IT agency. I submitted an invoice every week, however 8 weeks ago they overpaid one week by sending me x2 payments instead of 1. They never brought it to my attention until the new year and I've now left the contract and they asking me for £400+ pounds. Do I have to legally pay it back?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

If it was a simple accounting error on their part, and you are not legally entitled to the payment, the money remains very much theirs I am afraid. If you repay it, you will be no worse off than if you had never received it. And you should be responsible for your own accounting here, the overpayment should have been evident at once I suggest. Say a bank credited your account with £400 in error, then you have no right to draw on those funds and the bank have a total legal claim for repayment. Your experience is pretty much the same. Tough I know but you should negotiate repayment best you can.

Other Answers (7)

  • Legally, and morally, yes you are obligated to return the money.

Even though they may not have noticed the error in the payment, you did and you knowingly accepted the money without alerting them.

It is your obligation, as the owner/CFO/upper management of the company to alert your vendors/partners in errors in contract/overpayments/underpayments.

    Source(s):

  • Not only legally, but morally. You clearly received money that you were not entitled to. You probably knew it at the time, but chose not to report it. They can take you do court to prove that they overpaid you. Also, they will never give you a good recommendation to another firm who might be interested in your services in the future. Why don't you just do the right thing and return the funds.
  • Yes, you do. You have benefited from a mistake and your integrity (not to mention your reputation and honesty) are at stake. However, if you have received interest on the overpayment, that you can keep. Anything else is theft.
  • You are not legally entitled to be paid for service that you did not render. Being inadvertently paid twice for the same service does not give you a legal right to keep the money. (I'm thinking you already know that...)
  • Yes, even though it was an accounting error on there part to pay 2 times on the same invoice
it is fraud on your part to keep this overpayment.
  • Yes - it was a mistake and if they had underpaid you then I presume you would want them to stump up.
  • Yes, it isnt yours to keep is it?

What Can I do about my parents and business?

Resolved Question

What Can I do about my parents and business?

Me and my husband started our own business selling pet feeds on ebay. We then raised enough money to open a shop, then another shop and a website. In september we asked my mum and dad if they would like to go into business with us and they said yes. We opened a shop in our nearest town centre. There were a lot of arguments and it was unmanageable (never mix family and business), and I GAVE my mum and dad my 50% shares. They have now sold those shares for £6,000 to my auntie.

Their shop is about 13miles from ours but they are competing with us and trying to take our customers. I had a very close relationship with my mum and dad but now I feel like i am being stabbed in the back.

What can we do to stop them?
Please help, we are 23 yrs old and we started from nothing and it has been a very difficult journey, now I feel they are snatching it all away!!

Thanks in advance

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Oh my God, what a hard pill to swallow, I really dont know anyone that would do this to their own offsprings! Can you afford to undercut them? if only for a while, just cut your profit margin a bit, advertise on their patch, take a deep breath, this is war, but, on no account, give in. Good luck. Stay honest.

  • There are lots of chimney pots in a 13 mile distance,in other words there is enough business to go round.
Just think how many restaurants can be in a small high street, don't give up at the first hurdle ,you just have to fight .
You did it when you built the business up you can do it again,so pull yourself out of the doldrums and give it your best shot, and remember you must have done something right to get where you are now.
I do understand how you feel though and good luck.
  • It looks like your parents are just want to money from u and they really don't care about u ,but since it's aleady happen ,and i think it's really hard to stop them now ,as they have invested ,they want to take the money back and of course earn profit too .

The best way i can think of now is to improve the service of your business ,and be a good competitor ,and u know what ,even without your auntie, there would still lots of competitors outside ,just take them as one of those ,and you ll still do you best on it ,and you remember it good " don't mix business with famiily".

How do I track down a business address from a web site?

I think the site is a bogus one

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

If in the "contact" section they don't provide any form of address then the site should not be trusted.

On the other hand anybody can buy a mailbox and have it act as a business address!

Try doing some research online for the site itself by googling its name and the words "scam", "fraud" and so on.

How can I earn money as an affiliate for different products?

Resolved Question

How can I earn money as an affiliate for different products?

I found some good products to sell but how do I find people to buy them?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

There are 2 main ways affiliates can earn money selling different products. The first way is to choose a single popular product and promote it. Then find another product and do the same, etc. The second way is to find a company with different products and sell as an affiliate for them.

You can usually find one product at a time that will pay higher commissions than a company with many different products. In both cases the time spent to find buyers is about the same.

Competition in advertising is the biggest challenge because top affiliates have deep pockets. There are however some new players like Web Ad Tutor that can show you how to find buyers and explain how to sell to them without having to pay for advertising.

One thing to consider though, is that if you are not paying to advertise then your market reach is very small. On the up side, the money you earn from small volume of sales can be used to buy the ads you need sell more.

Advertising is an important part of all marketing campaigns, so it's probably a good idea to learn all you can about how it's done before you start spending money to compete for ad space.
