DO I NEED ANY QUALIFICATIONS TO RUN A NURSERY?

Resolved Question

DO I NEED ANY QUALIFICATIONS TO RUN A NURSERY?

Our local nursery is for sale I would like to look at buying it, I have no problem with gaining the early years professional status. Also does anyone know if there is any special licences to apply for? I know about the csiw but not sure about others also insurances needed? The nursery has 7 qualified staff. Any help greatly received. My only qualifications in childcare are being mother.

You will certainly require a licence which would involve having the requisite certificates for child care etc.

  • Firstly you would need to be CRB checked then apply to your local council to see what other qualifications you may require I know you need to be a registered nurse to run a nursing agency and with all the hype about children in the media no doubt you would need some qualifications.

  • I believe you need a qualification to run a nursery. Please check in your local library. Also I have a link for you to refer. That's best I can answer.

  • Working with children in this country has become a very complicated profession with all the problem with paedophiles, kidnappers and such so I'm sure you'll need a bit more than what you have.

  • If its childcare you are looking to do, you need a license.
