Business Idea but no Idea how to go ahead with it?

I live in Scotland, aged 22 and I have a business idea which I think could be quite good here. I am obviously not going to tell the idea as I do not want anyone copying. Basically I do not have a clue how to go about starting my own business, or if it will really kick off? Does anyone have any advice ? I have researched it slightly and Scotland does not have a business like this (similiar but not exact to my idea).

they have advisers you can speak to and a fantastic website which covers everything from tax to marketing, from copyright to finding a grant.

• you probably would do well to try a test market
  in other words, see if this is a viable business that people would be interested in dealing with
  if you need to have a location, you need to find out what sizes, and what prices are available for your business, check out cost of utilities, phones, insurance etc. you need to check your city's laws regarding licenses and how much, if it is something you sell you probably need to find out about the tax agency you will need to register and report to, if you plan to have employees you will probably need to get an id to withhold taxes from your employees and make the proper deposits and reports
