You are a trainee manager on the trainee manager scheme of a retail company. You are working in the warehouse when three deliveries arrive at the same time. You should only have one at a time in your store.

Question (1) What is the best course of action to take first?
Question (2) What is the worst course of action to take first?

Options:
a) check the schedule and unload the vehicles in the order they were meant to arrive.
b) check the content; unload priority goods example fresh and frozen foods.
c) unload the lorry with the least on, to get rid of quickly and clear backlog.
d) ask the driver to go to their next stop and come back later, when you will be less busy.

b - sounds fair but try telling that to the driver who only has clothes and has to wait for ages even though he was first to turn up.

c - sounds fair but if you've got half empty lorries arriving then your company has a problem - submit your resignation now.

d - no chance. If I was the driver I'd tell you to get stuffed.
