Drop shipping on ebay, does it work? Any advice will be appreciated!?

I am wanting to start a business from home, so I can look after my toddler and new born. I have been looking into selling on ebay and have come across something called dropshipping. The idea of drop shipping really appeals to me as I don't have that much excess space to keep stock. If anyone has advice on either dropshipping or how to go about selling on ebay, I am all ears!

oh oh captain, if you would like to start your own business selling on ebay, i have just set up a wholesale dropship site on global sources selling unbranded & branded electronics , including the popular KA08 touchscreen mini, which is my most succesfull selling product at the moment and sells extremely well on ebay, if your interested and would like to take a look, go to global sources , go to advanced search go to unverified suppliers and type in dtsavers,

we have only got a few products listed at the moment but there is loads in the pipeline, i nearly forgot to mention all orders have free worlwide delivery so thats more profit margin for the buyer eg you can add up to £7.00 postage on ebay

• Dropshipping is extremely difficult to do profitably.
  
  You and thousands of other people who bought the same SMC catalog will be doing the same thing. Listing the item for sale. You will have to spend money to list (not all items sell), money if you have a winner and paypal fees when they pay. That's 10-20% of the item's going price.
  
  People will bid on the cheapest one they can find, so the suggested retail in the dropship catalog is irrelevant. People also gravitate to the person with the highest good feedback, so new sellers have a hard time getting a foothold.
  
  Oh, and by the way, you have to mention in the auction that you do not have the item in your possession. This is to warn people that you are subject to the time it takes the dropshipper to ship.
  
  If the dropshipper is slow (or out of stock), it's you who will get the black eye.

• Dropshipping takes a lot of research to find a good one; as your eBay reputation is down to them supplying the correct item (you never even see the quality of the item) in a timely manner etc..They can make or break you.
  DON'T go for electricals/gadgets from the Far East; they are invariably fake/inferior/will incur Import taxes to your Buyers.
  
  Chose your product wisely based on your knowledge; don't think it is a quick way to make money, cos eBay is changing drastically in the next year to becoming a Shopping Mall/Big Shops venue.

• Dropshipping is a very profitable business..i am an ebay gold powerseller and all i use is dropshipping..The most important is to know the right dropshipper..Just look to my source and read this tutorial on how to find product to sell on ebay.

  One of the best and normally used by other ebay seller is http://www.artsnow.com. This website allow you to design your own product and it is free for 30days. So why don't you give a try as good as possible in the 30days free usage of the website.
  
  However you know nowadays there are plenty of competitors out there? So you need to be creative in thinking what is the way to attract people to buy your products.
  
  You should be sensitive on what you think is popular or will make people buy your items? What the design you should do.
  
  Lastly, goodluck. I know ebay will give you a good results if you work seriouslyy and don't give up on searching for more tips which are plenty in the internet. Go to ebay forum too to learn more things.

• I would steer clear of it, it seems to me that they are mostly scams.
  but you can make money on ebay, go round your local charity shops, and buy some things then sell em on ebay.
  I have done that and made a few quid.
  I even managed to sell a picture I bought for 1.50 for 120 quid!
  Mind you as I am silly I did donate 30 quid to the shop I got it from.
